In a continued demonstration of its commitment to youth empowerment and community engagement, the City College of Cagayan de Oro proudly participated in the 2025 LGU PASIGARBO Teen Center Evaluation, held from March 19 to 23, 2025. The event, hosted by the City Health Office, City Improvement Development Office, City Social Welfare and Development , and Oro Youth Development Office, brought together key stakeholders to assess and enhance the impact of local Teen Centers across the city.
Representing CCCDO in this important initiative was Dr. Jean T. Loquillano, Director of the Center for Human Rights Education. Her involvement as one of the official evaluators underscores the vital role that academic institutions play in promoting the health, safety, and holistic development of young people in Cagayan de Oro.
The PASIGARBO Teen Center Evaluation serves as a comprehensive review of the functionality, accessibility, and youth engagement strategies of Teen Centers in DepEd Secondary Schools. The evaluation focused on critical aspects such as sexual and reproductive health education, mental health services, counseling accessibility, youth-led activities, and the overall responsiveness of the centers to the needs of adolescents.
Through this process, the city aims to ensure that each Teen Center is not only a safe space but also a dynamic hub for personal growth, education, and peer support. CCCDO's participation reflects its broader commitment to supporting government efforts in youth development and health education. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, the institution continues to align its outreach programs with local initiatives that uplift young lives and foster empowered, informed, and socially responsible citizens.
As a trusted evaluator, the City College of Cagayan de Oro remains a valuable partner in building a future where youth have access to safe spaces, life skills, and opportunities that help them thrive.
