The City Ordinance establishing the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCdeO) has been officially approved by the 20th City Council during their 40th Regular Session on May 29, 2023, at the City Council Session Hall.
Presided over by Vice Mayor Hon. Jocelyn Rodriguez, the approval came with key amendments, including changing the term “institutionalizing” to “establishing” as proposed by Councilor Ian Nacaya. Additionally, all members of the 20th City Council were made co-authors of the ordinance upon the request of Atty. Edgar Cabanlas, with Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba as the principal author of City Ordinance No. 2023-228. The establishment of the City College aligns with the Executive Agenda of Mayor Hon. Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy.
Councilor Magtajas-Daba also sponsored a resolution approving the official travel of Mr. James Patrick R. Santos, Head of CDOCTVI’s Linkages and Partnerships Division, for the ASEAN Digital Transformation and Future Skills Initiative Short Course at Griffith University, Australia, from June 9-25, 2023.
These developments mark a significant step in enhancing educational opportunities for Kagay-anons, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to quality education and service to the community.
