The Department of Information and Communications Technology Region 10 has launched a pilot training on Microsoft Productivity Tools (Bisaya Version), a project co-created by Coursebank and selected DepEd Division of Cagayan de Oro teachers. The three-day training, scheduled from January 29 to 31, 2024, is hosted by the City College of Cagayan de Oro.
Participating in the program are thirty (30) out-of-school youth, members of the Nahilaran IPS of Dansolihon, and Muslim communities from Cagayan de Oro City. The training is led by Engr. Jaymark Dumio, Engr. James Sagocsoc, Mr. Juniejo Zamora, and Mr. Mark Ian Mendrez from DICT-10, with assistance from the City College CESS Team, including Ms. Akima Abas, Mr. Ray Mar Donggian, and Mr. Fhel Feliciano.
This initiative serves as a precursor to the upcoming launch of the Localized Accessible Knowledge and Inclusive Platform (LA'KIP) modules on February 13, 2024. The program will introduce 13 new modules, providing learners with the option to study courses in the Bisaya language—expanding digital education accessibility for a wider audience in the region.
