It all began during her college years when her godparent, a skilled chef, introduced her to the idea of a career in a cruise ship. Eager to follow her aspirations, she enrolled in Housekeeping NCII qualification at the City College of Cagayan de Oro last October 2023.
However, what she initially thought would be a walk in the park turned out to be a challenging journey. Jcmay was endorsed to Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) in one of the institution's industry partners, Seda Centrio, Cagayan de Oro in C.M. Recto Ave. corner Corrales Street, Cagayan de Oro.
From this SIL program, Jcmay gained an invaluable takeaway - resiliency. She developed the ability to perform effectively in the midst of pressure and physical demands. It was this resiliency that paved the way for Jcmay to become a 4-Star Hotel Employee in Seda Hotel Centrio, a renowned hotel chain in the Philippines.
The City College of Cagayan de Oro is very grateful and would like to thank its industry partners who have continuously shown their support to our trainees and to the institution. We look forward to deploying more OJTs and to producing more “future-ready skilled workers".
