In 2023, the Technical Skills and Training Institute (TSTI) launched a meaningful free transportation program aimed at supporting low-income students, effectively reducing their financial burdens and improving access to educational opportunities. This initiative, made possible through a partnership with the City Mayor’s Office, ensures students have a dependable way to commute from designated pick-up points to campus, making their attendance at classes more achievable without the stress of transportation costs.

Operational Timeline: From July to September, the program transported students from Corrales Ave. and Tirso Neri St. pick-up points to TSTI’s campus, with an impressive turnout:

July: 8 days of service, transporting between 13 to 36 students daily. August: 9 days of service, transporting between 16 to 37 students daily. September: 5 days of service, transporting between 10 to 50 students daily. Funding and Expenditures: The total cost of the program reached Php 17,220, with monthly expenses broken down as follows:

July: Php 5,970 August: Php 6,450 September: Php 4,800 By alleviating transportation expenses, TSTI strives to boost attendance and support better academic outcomes for its students. This initiative is a testament to TSTI’s commitment to providing essential support services, enabling all students, regardless of financial background, to succeed. TSTI’s ongoing efforts to maintain and expand this program demonstrate its dedication to inclusivity and equal opportunity in education.
