Taking a stride towards advancing global initiatives in education, Dr. Jestoni Babia, President of City College, took an active role as a facilitator at the 4th UNESA's International Forum of University Rectors (UNIFUR) 2023 and the final meeting on "Promoting Teacher Education for Climate Change Education through Collaboration between Asian Centres of Excellence on Education for Sustainable Development (ATECCE)." The event, held in Surabaya, Indonesia from November 15-18, 2023, marked a collaborative effort to shape the future of climate change education in Asia.

The ATECCE project is central to championing climate change education in teacher training programs across Asia. Its main goal is to create an Asian framework for teacher education in climate change, offering a foundational guideline for seamless integration into programs. Additionally, a companion guide will disseminate best practices widely among teacher education institutions in Asia.

Dr. Babia played a crucial role in developing a framework to integrate climate change education into educational strategies, courses, and curricula, highlighting City College's commitment to global conversations on addressing climate change through education. Esteemed universities from various Asian countries, including China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Thailand, and the Philippines, also participated actively, contributing their insights and experiences.

Participation in global initiatives not only positions City College as a leader in climate change education but also plays a crucial role in building diplomatic ties and collaborations with esteemed institutions across Asia. The exchange of ideas and collaborative efforts during international forums significantly enhances the institution's global presence, reinforcing its reputation for educational excellence.

Dr. Babia and City College's proactive involvement in shaping the future of climate change education solidifies their roles as key contributors to global educational initiatives, underscoring their dedication to sustainability and providing a transformative, globally relevant education.
