In a strong display of civic spirit and health advocacy, the City College of Cagayan de Oro, through its Extension and Outreach Office, proudly led Dugong Bayani 2025, a college-wide bloodletting activity held on May 9, 2025, in celebration of CCCDO Festival Day.
Anchored in the values of bayanihan, compassion, and social responsibility, this initiative brought together students, faculty, staff, and community volunteers in a united effort to save lives. Held at the CCCDO Housekeeping Rooms A and B, the activity yielded a meaningful outcome: around 27 bags of blood collected to support patients in need across Northern Mindanao.
This impactful event was made possible through close collaboration with the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), Department of Health (DOH), and the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), whose expertise and support ensured medical safety and efficiency throughout the process.
More than a health initiative, Dugong Bayani 2025 served as a platform for instilling a deeper understanding of volunteerism and the importance of regular blood donation as a civic duty. It directly supports the cityโs RISE Development Agenda, particularly under Safety, Security, and Social Development, by responding to urgent public health needs.
