In its ongoing commitment to community empowerment and sustainable leadership, the City College of Cagayan de Oro served as one of the lead facilitators during the GREEN Learning Series – Module 3, held on April 22–23, 2025, at Chamen Resort, Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Organized through partnership with WWF-Philippines and the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO), the two-day training program gathered barangay leaders, community volunteers, and key stakeholders from SWM-related organizations to strengthen grassroots capacities in promoting environmental sustainability.

Participants took part in reflective and interactive workshops on leadership, community visioning, and financial literacy– designed to deepen personal leadership, enhance critical thinking, and foster a stronger sense of commitment to sustainable community development.

Leading the sessions were Mr. Jerome Torres, Director for the Office of Lifelong Learning and Professional Development (OLLPD), and Mr. James Patrick Santos, Director for the Linkages and Partnerships Office (LAPO) and Youth Leadership Development Center (YLDC). They were assisted by Mr. Vonn Francis Cantilla, Coordinator for Instructional and Learning Materials Development Center (ILMDC) and Ms. Hazel Faye Abbu, Linkages and Partnerships Officer.

This partnership highlights CCCDO’s dedication to advancing leadership, environmental stewardship, and community development through multi-sectoral collaborations and transformative learning initiatives.
