Community Training and Employment Coordinator (CTECs) – Region 10 visited the City College of Cagayan de Oro – Technical Skills and Technology Institute (TSTI) on January 31, 2025, for a benchmarking activity on technical-vocational programs at the Agusan Campus. This two-day Community Development Program (CPD) Level II initiative aimed to provide participants with valuable insights into best practices implemented by local government units. Also, the benchmarking activity focused on replicable strategies and innovative programs that could be adopted to enhance tech-voc training services in their respective communities.
Led by Ms. Mary Vil Acenas, Vocational School Administrator of CCCdO-TSTI, the visitors explored the facilities, including the wing van donated by FICCO for the Mobile Training Program, as well as training areas for construction, tourism, and healthcare sector qualifications. Ms. Acenas together with the trainers, addressed inquiries regarding trainer qualifications, trainee admission processes, and community partnerships. The learning visit concluded with the graduation ceremony of CTEC participants, where Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, President of City College of CDO, congratulated the graduates. He emphasized their crucial role in bridging the skills gap in their cities and municipalities, stating, "You are part of the driving force in meeting the growing demand for skilled graduates in the region."
