CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCDO) has officially partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through a Memorandum of Agreement for the Government Internship Program (GIP).

The signing ceremony, held on March 25, 2025, at Malberry Suites, Limketkai Mall, marked a significant step in providing young workers with valuable government work experience. DOLE Region X Director, Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao, CESO III, led the event, emphasizing that GIP offers young individuals the opportunity to develop skills, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to public service.

Under the program, interns will assist government offices with non-technical tasks such as data encoding, employment profiling, and community service initiatives. City College of CDO, represented by its President, Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, expressed its full commitment to the program. "We are ready to welcome GIP interns and equip them with the competencies needed to thrive in public service. This aligns with our vision of producing highly skilled and service-driven professionals," Dr. Babia stated.

CCCDO extends its heartfelt gratitude to DOLE Region X and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Cagayan de Oro, led by Department Manager Kathleen Kate D. Sorilla, for facilitating this partnership.

Through GIP, young professionals will gain firsthand experience in government service, enhancing their career readiness and strengthening the public sector workforce.

This partnership reinforces CCDO’s role as a key institution in shaping future public servants while supporting the national goal of inclusive growth through employment and skills development.
