Congratulations to Jovelyn G. Delosa, Joel D. Potane, and Isabel Anne M. Alano for their research publication titled “Building A Research Culture: Interventions And Innovations” in the MIER Journal of Educational Studies Trends and Practices.
This insightful study explored the promotion of research-based strategies and practices within Philippine public schools, an initiative strongly supported by the Department of Education to empower educators and school leaders to engage in evidence-based research for problem-solving.
Using a phenomenological approach and action research design, the authors delve into the dynamics of “building” and “sustaining” a research culture. They identified five key actions—becoming, experiencing, feeling, sustaining, and developing—that help form a teacher-researcher identity.
The study also introduced the M.O.V.E.R.S. (Moving Research through Blended Learning Space) intervention, which provides coaching and mentoring to teachers, enabling them to craft strong research concept papers and address challenges during the new normal.
