Mr. Jerome "Jett" L. Torres presently serves as the Vocational School Administrator at the City College of Cagayan de Oro – Technical Skills and Technology Institute. With a distinguished career in educational leadership, Mr. Torres brings a wealth of expertise in school management, curriculum development, and the enhancement of foundational life skills and career development opportunities for students.

His visionary approach has significantly contributed to the expansion of strategic partnerships and linkages with key industries, thereby enriching the educational experience and opening new pathways for student success. Mr. Torres is passionately committed to pioneering innovations within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TechVoc) sector, aiming to elevate it to new heights of excellence and relevance in today's rapidly evolving job market.

In addition to his role at the City College of Cagayan de Oro, Mr. Jerome "Jett" L. Torres also enriches the academic community as a part-time faculty member in the School of Education and Development Communication at Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan. He imparts his extensive knowledge and expertise through teaching courses such as Photography in Development, Media Folk, Communication Strategies, and Professional Education. With over 17 years of experience in the realms of education and community development, Mr. Torres has distinguished himself as a dedicated educator and advocate for societal progress. His contributions to both the academic and local communities underscore his commitment to fostering a culture of learning and development that is both inclusive and impactful.

Mr. Torres has significantly impacted education and community service in Cagayan de Oro City, founding the Street Tutorial Advocacy, Inc. and the XU Night School Program - Alternative Learning System at Xavier University. These initiatives, aimed at enhancing educational equity and pedagogical innovation, showcase his commitment to inclusive and comprehensive learning. His outstanding leadership and dedication to formative education have been recognized with Xavier University's first Outstanding Formator award, regional and national ABS-CBN Geny Lopez Bayaning Pilipino Awards, and the National Award for Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) 16, underscoring his profound influence on youth empowerment and community development.

Responsibilities


Unified TVET Program Registrations and Accreditations System (UTPRAS). It ensures compliance of Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) with the minimum requirements as prescribed under the promulgated training regulation to include, among other curricular programs, faculty and staff qualifications, physical sites and facilities, tools, equipment, supplies, and materials, and similar requirements before the issuance of the government authority to offer or undertake technical vocational education programs.

It involves carefully coordinating program registration to ensure that all courses meet TESDA quality standards.

Learning Support System (LSS). It enhances trainee's success by providing academic, career, and personal counseling to students.

Helping trainees acquire soft skills, culture and the arts development, and career planning, as well as providing support for students with learning challenges or disabilities.

Construction Sector. It offers various training programs for the construction sector that provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue careers in construction-related fields such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical installation, and other construction trades.

It is designed to equip individuals with practical skills that are relevant to the needs of the construction industry.

Health Sector. It provides individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge for employment in healthcare-related fields such as barangay health services, emergency medical services, caregiving, and other healthcare support services.

Tourism Sector. It provides individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the tourism industry, including hospitality, food and beverage services, housekeeping, and other relevant skills essential for a career in the tourism sector.
