On September 19, 2023, select personnel, faculty, and non-teaching staff from the City College of Cagayan de Oro will participate in a Mangrove Planting Activity alongside other departments and offices under the Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro City. The event, which will take place at 6:30 AM at the Mangrove Reserve in Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City, is part of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration.
Through this initiative, the institution reaffirms its commitment to actively contribute to the global efforts on environmental sustainability by protecting coastal ecosystems and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
Students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff of the City College of Cagayan de Oroโs Agusan Annex Campus and Kauswagan Off-Campus actively participated in the ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ค๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ (๐๐๐๐) facilitated by the Health and Safety Committee headed by Mr. Romulo Araรฑa, on September 26, 2023.
During the drill, the participants performed the "๐๐ฎ๐๐ค, ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐" technique and proceeded to the designated evacuation area outside the campus.
The said activity highlights the importance of coordinated action in ensuring the overall safety of the City College of CDO community during disasters. Likewise, the participation reinforces the institutionโs commitment to fostering a culture of safety and preparedness.
