𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗛𝗜𝗨𝗦𝗔, 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗧𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗞, 𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗢𝗛𝗔𝗬!

In an enthusiastic celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and holistic development, the Cagayan de Oro City Technical Vocational Institute (CDOC-TVI) recently held its first-ever sports festival, the 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐢: CDOC-TVI SPORTSFEST 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐. Organized by the Student Affairs and Services Unit, this event brought together trainees from diverse technical qualifications alongside participants from our esteemed partner, Monark Foundation.

The sportsfest, themed "𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗛𝗜𝗨𝗦𝗔, 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗧𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗞, 𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗢𝗛𝗔𝗬" (Unity, Gathering, and Friendship), aimed to foster camaraderie and lasting relationships among the CDOC-TVI trainees. From the lively parade that marked the opening of the event to the energetic competitions that followed, each participant was given an opportunity to showcase their abilities, push their limits, and experience the rewards of teamwork and perseverance.

This dynamic event included a variety of competitive games and sports, designed not only to encourage physical fitness but also to instill the values of discipline, resilience, and collaboration. The vibrant atmosphere of the event reflected CDOC-TVI’s commitment to supporting the all-around growth of its trainees, beyond just technical skills and academic accomplishments.

The Panagtigi Sportsfest was more than just a series of games; it was an experience where participants forged stronger connections with their peers, mentors, and partners. It exemplified the institute’s dedication to creating a positive and engaging environment for its students, ensuring that they develop the social and emotional skills necessary to succeed in both their careers and personal lives.

𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐃𝐎 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 "𝐑𝐞-𝐄𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞" 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩

On October 18, 2023, the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO), in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) - Psychosocial Unit and the City Scholarship Office (CSO), organized a full-day mental wellness workshop titled “Re-Echoing Life: Living in a Facilitative Environment” at the Annex Agusan Campus. The event, attended by faculty and non-teaching staff, aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills to cultivate a supportive environment that prioritizes mental health and suicide prevention.

In the morning session, Mr. Rousell B. Ferrer, MA, RPm, Admissions and Placement Officer of the CSO, gave an insightful overview of mental health, discussing the factors influencing mental well-being. Mr. Ferrer also debunked 10 common myths about mental health, including the misconception that “there is no hope for people with mental health issues.” He emphasized that many individuals with mental health concerns can improve and recover, especially with support from friends and family.

The afternoon session, led by Ms. Erl Kathleen Marie C. Antimano, RPm, and Mr. Paolo Ryan Adoraflor, MAPsy, RPm, of the CSWD, focused on basic counseling techniques and supportive communication. Participants were trained to recognize warning signs, practice active listening, and understand how body language contributes to creating a compassionate, culturally sensitive environment.

The City College of CDO extends its sincere gratitude to the CSWD-Psychosocial Unit and the CSO for their invaluable contributions. Through meaningful discussions, the workshop provided participants with practical tools and insights to foster a more mentally healthy, supportive community.

On April 17, 2023, TESDA X Provincial Director, Marigold Cherie R. Garrido, and Ms. Miraluna T. Calibo, Senior TESD Specialist, awarded the Certificate of Accreditation to the City College of Cagayan de Oro at the City College of CDO Agusan Campus.

Receiving the TESDA’s accreditation certificate were the TSTI Vocational School Administrator, Mr. Jerome L. Torres, and Mr. Valcyrus Madarieta, UTPRAS Officer, along with Dr. Ray Butch D. Mahinay, Associate VP for Academics, and Dr. Ma. Aira Chenessa B. Aguilar, Dean for Curriculum and Instruction.

The City College of Cagayan de Oro is proud to share that it’s the first accredited assessment center for Barangay Health Services NCII in the city and the second assessment center in the region. This significant milestone marks a greater opportunity for Barangay Health Workers, enabling them to acquire skills and obtain their National Certificate II in BHS NCII.
